Safe Handling & Disposal

Swann-Morton blades are extremely sharp and must be handled with appropriate care. Always use a blade-fitting device or forceps when attaching and removing blades from the handle — never use fingers. Never re-use a blade that has been used on a patient. Dispose of used blades immediately into an approved sharps container (UN3291 compliant) — do not recap, bend, or break blades before disposal. Comply with local sharps disposal regulations (UK: HTM 07-01 Safe Management of Healthcare Waste). Keep out of reach of children and untrained individuals.
